Can Rafols dels Caus Sumoll Massis del Garraf Spain 2011
This new light-colored, aromatic red produced with the local Sumoll grape is called simply 2011 Sumoll. It is a wine they define as a Mediterranean version of Pinot Noir or Nebbiolo, meaning it is a light red, very aromatic with marked acidity that transmits very well the character of the chalky soils of the Garraf where they are located. The tannins are fine, more in a Nebbiolo fashion than Pinot, and the texture is silky. It ends very tasty and supple, almost saline.
